The 17th Edition Exam

The City and Guilds 2382-15 is the qualification which covers the Wiring Regulations for Electrical Installers.

The 17th edition exam is a 2 hour 60 question online exam. In order to pass you will need to have about 60% of the questions right. This means you have 2 minutes for each question which should be just enough to understand the question and locate the correct answer in the I.E.E. Wiring Regulations book. The actual pass mark for the exam is said to be 60%, but C&G confirmed that it can change slightly depending on the national avarages achieved by candidates. You should aim for 80% in order to be confident that you will pass.

Don`t forget, even if this is an open book exam (which means that you can use the book on the exam) you will still have to know the book well enough in order to find the answer quickly enough. The book is not a typical book for students, it is a British Standard, so you will have to be very familiar with the way it is structured in order to use it fast enough.
